• Be cautious when opening unsolicited emails or texts, especially those containing links to websites.
• Don't reply to emails or pop-up messages that ask for personal or financial information.
• Don't click on links or open attachments in any suspicious message.
• Don’t click on pop-ups asking you to install software or claiming that your computer has a virus.
• Be suspicious of any message that appears to be urgent or attempts to scare or intimidate you.
• Ensure that all anti-virus and security software for all computers used for online banking are robust and up to date.
• Do not save passwords – especially those pertaining to your personal online banking credentials or credit cards.
• Create strong, unique passwords and do not share them.
• Never download anything from a source you don’t trust.
• If unsure about the safety of an email or link, check with the sender first.
• Hang up on robocalls.
• Ignore online offers for vaccinations and home test kits. They do not exist at this time. Refer to the FDA or CDC official websites for legitimate information.
• Make sure your information is coming from a credible source.
• Purchase your products online wisely. Some online sellers are claiming to have in demand products when they do not.
• Don’t respond to texts, emails or phone calls about government relief checks. These are scams.

Scammers often try to elicit a sense of fear or urgency in victims, do not panic. If something makes you feel uncomfortable, end the form of communication immediately.

Every day, there are millions of attempts against consumers to compromise data. Attacks like phishing and ransomware can be prevented with simple steps and education.

Please do your due diligence and be wary of any attempts to gain your personal information, including:
